Our history

Mariner Underwriters Ltd formed as joint venture with Vero Insurance NZ Ltd in 2001 as a specialist boutique boat insurer, dealing with boat clubs, boaties direct and Insurance brokers. Vero acquired 100% of Mariner Underwriters Limited in 2007, a vote of confidence in the team and the brand.

Mariner Marine Insurance was formed in 2010 to acquire the direct, boat dealer and boat club business from Vero and remains an independently owned underwriting agency for Vero.
