Making a claim on your boat insurance
Making a claim on your boat insurance
The first and most important thing to remember when you’ve had an accident or incident with your boat is making sure everyone is safe and the boat is secured.
However, once the situation is under control and you are back on dry land, give us a call and let us know what’s happened. We want to make your insurance claims process simple and stress-free, so you can get back out on the water as soon as possible.
A few things to remember:
- After an incident or accident, do what you can to prevent any further damage or loss. Your boat insurance policy will cover any expenses reasonably incurred in this way, including the cost of a tow home.
- If another vessel or person is involved, don’t admit responsibility or liability and don’t agree to pay, settle or decline any claim. Speak to us first.
- Report any burglary or malicious act to the police immediately — we’ll need a copy of that report to process your claim.
