Safer summer sailing available for all with free ENC charts
A useful new service has been launched by LINZ (Land Information New Zealand), with free electronic nautical marine charts promising to keep us all safer on the water this summer. The ENC Service (which stands for electronic navigational charts) is a subscription service that supplies users with updates direct from LINZ data.
With many mariners now using electronic charts and plotters for navigation, this service will help keep recreational and commercial mariners safer in NZ waters. There’s specific chart packs available covering different regions. You do need a compatible navigation system, but full details are available on the LINZ site here.
